Weekend trip to Taejongdae - 문화체험
At the weekend there are many things to do and places to see around Busan on one side of Gimhae and in the Changwon area on the other side of Gimhae, since I went to Tongyeong last weekend this past weekend we decided to go to Taejongdae which is situated on a little island in Busan. It was also a good oppertunity to meet up with a classmate of mine from UCLan (my university in the UK) Kyle, he is currently studying at PNU (Pusan National University).
To get there from Inje University you need to take the bus number 2 or 2-1 to Inje University station 인제대역 then cross over the bridge connected to the station to the other side of the road at take the bus number 1004 to Busan station 부산역 from there you can take the bus 101 to Taejongdae park but we got a cab which cost about 10,000원 which wasn't too bad for 4 of us.
I would say Autumn is the best season to visit here, there are a lot of steep hilly areas to climb on the island so in the Summer I feel it would be too hot, also in the autumn you get the beautiful colours of trees and blue skies as well as clear sunsets.

We arrived just as the sun was starting to set and it was absolutely stunning.
There were quite a few statues as well and they were all really beautiful in white stone.
Once we reached the lighthouse (the main attraction in my opinion) there were little seated areas by the rocks where people could eat and drink, they closed once it started to get dark for safety reasons.
The water here is such a beautiful turquoise colour it looks so nice in pictures.
There were a few levels of stairs near the lighthouse so you could get different viewpoints of the area, I was petrified as it was windy and very high up so i was not fond of going near the edge, much to my friends amusement.

The sun setting was gorgeous to watch.
We then walked back through the park exhausted by the hike to get to the lighthouse and decided to get a cab to Seomyeon 서면 to eat some dinner as we had tired ourselves out. This time it cost about 15,000원 we went to a restaurant called 내가찜한닭. It is a chain that has branches all over Korea I really recommend it, we got a large chicken dish that had cheese filled deokbeokki, mandu, glass noodles, onions, carrots, potato all sorts it was really delicious.
After eating we went onto 노래방, the singing rooms in Busan seem to be a bit more expensive than Gimhae. I was used to our 3000원 for 1 hour deal in 틴틴노래방 near Inje university but this room was 15,000원 for 1 hour. The room was good though and we got free pepero as it was pepero day. After the singing room we said goodbye to Kyle and took the 1004 back to Inje university station and then a cab home. We got a lot of cabs that day.
Overall I really recommend checking out some of these island areas around Busan they are really beautiful and all so varying in views and attractions.
