Chef the Musical -  한국문화제험 수업

I really enjoy the 한국문화제험 class at Inje University because it includes the opportunity to go out and get a taste of Gimhae culture and life, so far, we have been able to go out and make rice cakes at a local cooking school and visit the local theme park. as part of our classes. This weekend we went together to see a musical at Gimhae art centre.

Pictures from outside the Gimhae art centre or 김해무화의전당 To get there from Inje university you can take bus 100 from the main gate to nearby it takes about 34 mins, alternatively, you can take the bus 2 or 2-1 to 인제대역 and then get off at 박물과역 or 연지공원역 and walk.

It's a huge building and hosts a variety of performances so it is a really good place to check out if you are in Gimhae. We went to see a musical called "Chef" it was a performance based on cooking that involved beat-boxing and b-boying performances with a comedic story line and plenty of audience involvement.   We weren't allowed to take pictures inside the performance but the seating was really good everyone got a clear view and the tickets are really reasonably priced. What was also great about the performance was it included  a lot of international references, languages and mainly focused on non verbal noise making via the beat-boxing and singing in long notes rather than with words. Which all can be universally understood so me and all my classmates do not speak the same first language we were able to receive and enjoy the show in the same way which was really nice.
If you want something to do after the performance the Gimhae art centre is right to 연지 park which is a really pretty spot to walk around especially in the autumn, the trees in the local area are amazing arrays of yellows, reds and oranges.

The park is right next to the art centrre

Overall it makes for a nice day out, the musical was about 80 minutes long and started at 2pm so afterwards I took a relaxing stroll in the park and went onto to have dinner. If you want more information about what is on at the Gimhae art centre and how to buy tickets visit their website: http://english.gasc.or.kr/index.do

Thanks again to Inje university for another fun experience!
