Which classes are good to take at Inje university?

In this blog post, I wanted to introduce the different classes available at Inje university besides the Korean language classes. There are a variety of different and interesting classes available.

한국문화 체험 수업
Korean cultural experience class

In this class you get the opportunity to do lots of different things like wear Hanbok, try making traditional food, go on class trips and learn more about local history and culture. When I took this class in the first semester I was so surprised at the huge amount of effort that goes into this class and the teacher prepares so many interesting activities for the class. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was very happy I chose this class.

금정: "나는 한국 문화 체험 교실을 좋아한다. 왜냐하면 우리는 한국 음식과 노래를 체험할 수 있기 때문이다." I like Korean culture and experience class. This is because we can experience Korean food and songs.

Korean Physical Education Class

In this class, you get an opportunity to play various sports with your classmates from Golf to Taekwondo. The teacher is very funny and personable, always making jokes with the class and keeping things light-hearted. It makes this class feel less like a class and more of a social gathering with games.

We make quite a mess and have a lot of fun together whilst playing, everyone from different abilities joins in and we always have a fun time. I often laugh a lot because I really do lack the ability to do any sports well but I still have fun.

한국 영화 사회 
Korean film and society class

In this English taught class, we get to discuss and compare major Korean films and the way they portray Korean society. I particularly like this class because I feel I can learn a lot about how to view films in a more in-depth way and continue to learn more about Korea and Korean society through these films portrayals. So far we have watched "An Ode to my Father", "The Host" and "Memories of Murder" we have also just started "My Sassy Girl" the films are shown with English subtitles on a huge projector in HD, which is really nice. In this class, you can also develop your comparative and analytical skills through the essays you produce.

Korean Society & Culture class

This is another English taught class where we are able to discuss and analyze different points of Korean history and compare them to our own cultures. Everything from birth to death, ceremonies, and traditions. It gives you a good overview of the culture and history. Although I had taken a similar class in the UK I still found it interesting to have discussions with my teacher and my classmates about differences in our cultures and our countries traditions.

I really recommend if you are a student coming for an exchange at Inje university to try out these classes and if you are coming for only 1 semester definitely make sure to take the Korean cultural experience class. You will get a great overall experience and get to try out many different things in that class, the teachers are all lovely at Inje university so any of these classes you choose you will really enjoy anyway :)
