부산 유채꽃 Busan Canola flower festival
I hadn't yet been to a festival during my time in Korea, these days the pollution levels are high and I suffer from allergies but I just could not resist a trip to see these rapeseed/ Canola fields. Instagram is flooded with pictures of people amongst the flowers and the striking yellow colour is so attractive.
From Inje university you take the bus 2/ 2-1 to 인제대역 -> 등구역 or 대저역 and it was a short walk from there the place is called 대저생태공원.
The walk from the station is full of cherry blossom trees that must have been beautiful in full bloom
You can see how bad the pollution was that day though, I had to wear a mask :(
There are lots of pretty windmills dotted around the flower paths which add an extra burst of colour!
Then there was the festival section
Kyle and Martha my friends from the UK braved the pollen-filled air with me!
There was a Hanbok fashion show and I really loved that all the models were older, they really looked like they felt beautiful that day and it warmed my heart.
I met up with my friend Mincheol too
It was so busy, it's a very popular destination during festival season
There were many couples! haha and many stalls of local businesses selling food and drinks.
Me and Mincheol tried these hotdogs they were rolled in sugar which confused my tastebuds but they looked pretty! If you are in Korea make sure to check out the festivals, there are a lot especially in spring :)
